I agree. It's wise not to feel better because of someone's failure to live up to their principles. On a personal level, I feel I failed many times without others noticing. But i remind myself to correct such behavior. It is a continuous struggle.

Nailed it for me. I’m having conflict with a work colleague who refuses to train me on critical tasks. Like this article says - it’s not because he wants to see me fail necessarily but the reality is he will look like the white knight if I do. It’s fear and insecurity. He’s still an honorable guy.
